“An Engineering Change Notice (ECN) is a document authorizing and recording design changes throughout the prototyping and life-cycle phases of a product. ” learn more.
Have you ever experienced a frustrating moment when ECN (Engineering Change Notice) was changed just a few hours before the implementation of work order?
ECN change is always the case in the factory, generally in BOM data or revision, which requires a few modifications, but reprogramming shall cost much time still.
If you are still troubled by frequent ECN change, we’d like to recommend an intelligent tool for you to get rid of such dilemma.
VayoPro-SMT Expert software has been proved quite efficient to conduct BOM difference comparison with ECN change. This intelligent software tool allows you to avoid omissions in ECN change process and manage the program update without delay in product delivery.
Let’s take a look at the text demonstration on how to cope with ECN change by VayoPro-SMT Expert software.
1. Open the VayoPro-SMT Expert software and select ‘SMT Standard’ mode, as shown below:
Note: Users are allowed to configure the BOM comparison function into ‘SMT Standard’ mode or into accelerator mode.
2. Select ‘BOM Comparison’ underTools (T), as shown below:
On this interface as shown in the following pic., there are two columns for BOM data, thereinto one is for New BOM (after change), the other is for former BOM (before change).
The two pictures below show how to read in BOM data.
This pic. shows the interface after read-in of two BOMs:
3. After read-in of two BOMs, click “Compare” button and select a comparison report template on the pop-up window, as shown below:
Then click ‘Report” and select the comparison result as you need.
You can also export ECN documents as you need.
At last, click ‘Confirm” button and you will get a comparison report.
This SMT Expert software has intuitively reported the changed information, such as reference number, part number and so on. Besides, the software also supports export of report to local file in excel or PDF format.
Note: The report supports a user-defined template.
